ASABA/Nigeria: The monthly Environmental Sanitation Exercise for the month of January will hold in Delta State on Saturday January 27, 2018, between the hours of 7am and 10am.
During the period of the exercise there will be restrictions on the movement of persons and vehicles except those engaged in essential duties and inter State journeys.
A statement endorsed by the Director of Information, Mr Paul Osahor, indicated that the State Commissioner for Environment, Barr John Nani and staff of the Ministry and other relevant government agencies will monitor the exercise, while officials of the State Waste Management Board and Local Government Councils are to evacuate the resultant refuse to approved government dump sites.
The statement warned that defaulters will be sanctioned by an appropriate mobile sanitation court which will be on standby during the exercise.
It therefore advised Deltans and residents in the State to use the period of the exercise to keep their surroundings and drainages clean.
