
ASABA/Nigeria: As the Nigeria Women Football League (NWFL) kicks off this weekend, the Delta State Sports Commission has officially presented the Delta Queens squad for the 2025/2026 season, setting high expectations for the campaign.
Speaking at the unveiling ceremony in Asaba, the Executive Chairman of the Commission, Hon. Onoriode Oborevwori, expressed strong confidence in the team’s readiness and assured that the state government would provide all necessary support to ensure a successful season.
Hon. Oborevwori described Delta Queens as a “symbol of pride, resilience, and excellence,” noting that their accomplishments have continued to inspire a new generation of young female footballers across the state. He reaffirmed the administration’s unwavering commitment to the development of women’s football.
With the NWFL season scheduled to commence on November 26, 2025, Delta Queens will begin their title pursuit with a key away fixture against Nasarawa Amazons, marking the start of what is expected to be a thrilling and competitive season.
