ASABA/Nigeria: In a resounding display of solidarity, the Delta State Community Youth Forum rallied behind Governor Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, affirming their unwavering backing for his second term bid until 2031. Their declaration, made during a visit to the Government House in Asaba, underscores a unified front in support of the incumbent governor and his administration’s policies.
Led by the President of the National Association of Delta State Students (NADESSTU), Comrade Monday Wiiska, members of the coalition expressed their firm commitment to Governor Oborevwori. Comrade Wiiska highlighted the coalition’s representation of 80 critical youth groups from diverse ethnic backgrounds across the state’s three senatorial districts, emphasizing their united stance in endorsing the governor’s leadership.
“We stand here today, as leaders of various ethnic nationalities, to declare our support for Governor Sheriff Oborevwori till 2031,” stated Comrade Wiiska. He underscored the governor’s resounding victory in the March 18, 2023 gubernatorial election and subsequent legal triumphs, including successes at the Supreme Court.
The coalition lauded Governor Oborevwori’s progress in fulfilling his electoral promises, citing achievements such as infrastructure development, employment generation, and social welfare initiatives. They commended his administration’s proactive measures, including timely distribution of palliatives during challenging times, as evidence of compassionate governance.
In response, Governor Oborevwori expressed gratitude for the overwhelming support from the youth coalition, acknowledging their pivotal role in his electoral victory and subsequent legal battles. He reassured them of his continued dedication to fostering peace and development across Delta State.
“I am aware that throughout the trials, all of you were there for me,” Governor Oborevwori remarked. “This love that you have shown me and this government, it’s only God that will show you your own love.”
