ASABA/Nigeria: Delta State, under the visionary leadership of Governor Sheriff Oborevwori, has been recognized as Nigeria’s fastest-growing economy and a leader in modern infrastructural development.
Director General of the Delta State Bureau for Communications and Orientation, Dr. Fred Latimore Oghenesivbe, made this assertion on Saturday while reacting to the National Award of “Best Governor in Infrastructural Development,” conferred on Oborevwori by The New Telegraph, one of Nigeria’s leading newspapers.
Oghenesivbe stated that the governor’s achievements across multiple sectors in less than two years have transformed governance and public service, positioning Delta as the “pride of Nigeria” and a reference point for durable road infrastructure and socio-economic remodeling.
Congratulating Governor Oborevwori, he described him as a pragmatic leader with proven competence, foresight, and capacity. He highlighted key projects such as the construction of three major flyovers, the rapid dualization of the Ughelli-Asaba highway, and the recent allocation of N275 billion to infrastructure in the 2025 budget, all of which he said demonstrate the governor’s commitment to Advancing Delta beyond 2027.
The Bureau Chief assured that the administration would continue to support small businesses while making significant investments in education, healthcare, agriculture, transportation, and clean energy. He added that the multiple national awards received by Oborevwori expose the biases of critics who have sought to downplay his accomplishments.
Oghenesivbe called on all Deltans, regardless of political affiliation, to support the governor’s MORE Agenda, expressing confidence that in 2027, not only will Oborevwori be overwhelmingly re-elected, but the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) will also reclaim all State and National Assembly seats.
“Delta is a shining light and the pride of the nation, as reflected in the numerous national awards bestowed on our pragmatic leader for good governance across all sectors of the state economy,” he said.
“Delta leads in mega infrastructure development, prudent resource management without borrowing, sports development, clean energy advancement, and peace and security enhancement,” he added.
Oghenesivbe further commended the governor for emerging as the Best Governor in Infrastructural Development, saying, “We are filled with joy and gratitude to God Almighty.”
He urged all well-meaning Deltans to unite behind the governor’s vision, emphasizing that working together would ensure the realization of a prosperous Delta. “The governor is on top of it, and it is only fair that we support him as partners in progress,” he said.
“These national awards validate the governor’s visionary leadership and great foresight. His detractors should reconsider their stance, desist from baseless propaganda, and acknowledge the facts because these awards have exposed them in a bad light,” Oghenesivbe concluded.
