WARRI/Nigeria: The final arrangements have been made for the burial of Mrs. Susan Caulker (née Irede), the Senior Sister of Mr Denniss Otu, Veteran Journalist.
Susan, a devoted family matriarch and pillar of strength in the Urhuoka-Abraka community, located in the Ethiope East Local Government Area of Delta State, died at the age of 63, passed away on Monday, March 24, 2025, leaving behind a legacy of love, kindness, and dedication to her family and community.
The burial ceremony will commence with a Service of Songs, followed by a Vigil Mass, Requiem Mass, and Thanksgiving Mass. The details of the events have been provided by the burial arrangements, signed by Mr. Stanley Irede and Miss Rukevwe Caulker, the deceased’s family members. The Vigil Mass is scheduled for Wednesday, June 11, 2025, at 5:30 PM at St. Thomas Catholic Church, Otokutu, in Ughelli South Local Government Area.
The Requiem Mass will take place on Friday, June 13, 2025, at 10:00 AM at St. Peter Claver Catholic Church in Urhuoka-Abraka, followed by a reception at the Urhuoka-Abraka School 1. To conclude the funeral activities, a Thanksgiving Mass will be held on Sunday, June 15, 2025, at 8:30 AM at St. Thomas Catholic Church, Otokutu.
“We are expecting family, friends, and well-wishers to come together to honor Mrs. Caulker’s life and celebrate her legacy of kindness, humility, and love,” said the family.
Mrs. Susan Caulker, a trained teacher and businesswoman, is survived by her husband, children, grandchildren, an elderly mother, brothers and sisters, including her younger brother, veteran journalist Mr. Dennis Otu, and a host of other relatives.
