ASABA/Nigeria: The Deputy Governor of Delta State, Sir Monday Onyeme, has expressed his belief that the success story of Governor Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori at the polls, as well as the achievements of his administration, can be attributed to the handiwork of God.
The Deputy Governor made these remarks during a courtesy call by the leadership of Christian Community Partners (CCP) on Tuesday, June 27, 2023.
According to Sir Onyeme, the way in which the state government has been carrying out its activities clearly demonstrates the work of God. He emphasized that the administration of Governor Rt. Hon. Oborevwori relies solely on divine guidance and urged spiritual leaders and all Deltans to continue praying for the administration’s success. Sir Onyeme further stated that with the collective prayers and support of the people, the government will remain focused on delivering the M.O.R.E. Agenda without any hindrances.
During the meeting, Sir Onyeme expressed his gratitude to the spiritual leaders for their unwavering support in the past elections and their continuous prayers for the administration. He acknowledged their contributions to the governance of Delta State and recognized the sustaining power of God in the administration’s endeavors. Sir Onyeme urged the spiritual leaders not to relent in their support and encouraged them to intercede before God Almighty for His protection over the government.
In response, Bishop Greatman Nmalagu, the President of CCP, highlighted that the victory of Governor Rt. Hon. Oborevwori and Sir Onyeme in the polls was a result of divine ordination. He assured the Deputy Governor that the group would continue to pray for the success of the administration, emphasizing their belief in the divine mandate of the Governor and Deputy Governor.
The visit also featured sessions of prayers and praise singing, where gratitude was expressed to God for His blessings upon the people of Delta State and for ensuring the victory of Governor Rt. Hon. Oborevwori and Sir Onyeme in the elections. As a token of appreciation, religious materials, including a Holy Bible and a Daily Reading Devotional pamphlet, were presented to the Deputy Governor during the visit.
The meeting was attended by Engr Dan Ossai, the Secretary of the Delta State chapter of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), and Sir Christopher Osakwe, the Deputy Chief of Staff at the Government House. The presence of these esteemed individuals further highlighted the significance of the occasion.
It is evident that the Deputy Governor’s recognition of divine intervention in the success of Governor Oborevwori and the importance of continued prayers and support from the spiritual community reinforces the commitment of the administration to deliver effective governance for the people of Delta State.
