In order to meet the new structure of the Delta State Oil Producing Areas Development Commission, DESOPADEC, and in line with the “Bottom Up Approach” of the commission two committees of ICT and Education had been inaugurated by the Executive Director Social Services Development, Hon Ochor Chris Ochor.
Inaugurating the committees recently in his office in Warri, the Executive Director said that the committees are among the various committees that will be inaugurated in the Directorate of Social Services to ensure that the work and activities of the directorate is in direct contact with the people of the mandate area.
While congratulating the members of the committees, he charged them to take their assignment serious, and see that they do all that is positively possible to project the image of the commission to the outside world.
In the word of the Executive Director, “We must do all that is possible to ensure that we score”.
The two committees made up of a total of fourteen members drawn from the Directorate, has Mr Tosan Okorodudu as the Chairman and Mr Julius Badai, as Secretary of the ICT Committee, while Mr Odalonu Otuya, and Mr Gbubeni Okome as the Chairman and Secretary of the Education Committee respectively.
According to Hon Ochor, while the ICT committee is to ensure that the activities of the directorate are well packaged and made available to the commission’s web developers, the Education committee is charged to get details of schools with bad infrastructure, including sitting and writing materials to enable the commission to be well positioned to serve the people better.
