Dortmund Sporting Director Kehl Calls Chelsea Transfer Spendings Wild

DORTMUND/Germany: Borussia Dortmund’s sporting director has criticized Chelsea’s spendings in the last transfer window, which saw the English club break the British transfer record by signing Enzo Fernandez from Benfica.

“It’s very wild, one has to say,” Kehl told German broadcasters Sky Sport. “Of course, I have been following what Chelsea have been up to in the last weeks and months.”

Midfielder Fernandez has signed a deal that will run until 2031, with Chelsea paying £106.8 million ($131.4 million) for the Argentina World Cup winner.

“Money doesn’t matter there. We simply have to earn our money here in a different way. That’s why we’re not in a position to make such transfers,” Kehl said.
