Double National Honours Validate Oborevwori’s Transformational Leadership, Says Delta DGs’ College

Delta State Governor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, receiving the Governor of the Year 2025 award, as the Delta State Government crest is displayed alongside his official portrait, marking national recognition of the state’s transformational strides.

ASABA/Nigeria: The College of Directors-General, Chief Job Creation Officer and Executive Secretaries in the Delta State Government has described the conferment of the 2025 Governor of the Year awards on Governor Sheriff Oborevwori by The Telegraph and Leadership newspapers as a resounding national endorsement of Delta State’s rapid growth trajectory and strategic reforms.

In a statement issued in Asaba and signed by the College Dean and former Secretary to the State Government, Chief Patrick Ukah, Mnipr, alongside the Publicity Secretary, Olorogun (Barr.) Fred Latimore Oghenesivbe, anipr, the College said the twin honours represent “clear validation of purposeful governance, measurable achievements, and disciplined leadership anchored on transparency and accountability.”

The group noted that recognition from two major national dailies underscores the Governor’s rising profile as a reform-focused leader whose administration has prioritised tangible outcomes through the implementation of the MORE Agenda.

According to the statement, the administration, in less than three years, has fundamentally reshaped governance in Delta State through what it described as aggressive infrastructure renewal, expanded job and wealth creation programmes, strengthened security architecture, improved healthcare delivery and educational standards, as well as sustained investment in human capital development.

The College further characterised Governor Oborevwori as “the champion of a New Delta,” stressing that his government has effectively blended fiscal prudence with inclusive development policies. This, it said, has bolstered socio-economic stability and positioned the state more prominently on Nigeria’s development landscape.

“The awards are not merely personal recognitions for His Excellency; they symbolise a collective accomplishment for all Deltans. They affirm that the policies and programmes of this administration are delivering visible and verifiable results,” the statement added.

Reiterating its unwavering loyalty and institutional backing, the College pledged sustained support for the effective execution of government policies, with a view to consolidating ongoing reforms and sustaining transformational progress beyond 2027.

The body expressed confidence that Governor Oborevwori’s leadership would continue to entrench peace, strengthen governance institutions, broaden economic opportunities and advance Delta State towards greater prosperity and unity.
