ASABA/Nigeria: Ahead of the 2019 general elections, Democratic Peoples Party (DPP), has disclosed that the party will on the 4th of October, conduct its primary election to pick candidates for the various elective positions, advising Nigerians to prepare to use their Permanent Voters Cards PVC, to vote in to power credible individuals irrespective of party inclination, so as to enjoy what it called ‘true democratic dividends’.
Mr. Okpegwa Ejiroghene Abel, the Delta State Chairman of DPP, who spoke to newsmen on the party’s preparation for the 2019 elections, called on Nigerians especially Deltans to embrace the DPP, noting that the party will give every genuine, credible and interested individuals the opportunities to fly the party’s tickets so as to be able to dislodge the PDP led government in the state.
Okpegwa said; “DPP now have new face and I want to beckon on Deltans to embrace the new leadership which i lead, DPP will field credible candidates that can move Delta State forward, and bring the dividends of democracy to Deltans. Our forms are still available for new members to contest for the various elective positions, and we have free nomination forms for any woman aspirant to encourage them.”
He said DPP will wrestle power from the PDP in Delta state come 2019 so as to provide a structure that can work for the good of the people.
Hear him; “DPP will change the face of politics in Delta State, it will be a party in government that will touch the lives of people in grassroots, a party that will run a unity and open door policy. We will demonstrate to the people a government that works like the ATM machine that is a structure that will enable subsequent governors after our tenure to have blue prints.”
He said DPP will field credible candidates in the 2019 general elections to be able to actualise its vision for the masses.
“DPP will field people of proven integrity, they must not be career politician but a technocrats. People who can turn waste to wealth. I am calling on Nigerians not to sell their conscience; they have to vote for people who can turn things around, people who can think outside the box. They should go beyond party lines and look at the profiles of each candidates and vote accordingly.” He added.
