ASABA/Nigeria: Dr. Ifeanyi Michael Osuoza, Commissioner Special Duties, (Government House) has paid glowing tribute to his childhood friends and accomplished military officers, Major-General Lawrence Fejokwu and Major-General Raymond Ochei, following their honourable retirement from the Nigerian Army after decades of meritorious service to the nation.

In a heartfelt message, Dr. Osuoza expressed profound admiration and gratitude for the two retired Generals, describing their military careers as exemplary journeys marked by patriotism, discipline, and unwavering commitment to the Nigerian project. He noted that both men had risen through the ranks with dignity and honour, leaving behind legacies of leadership and integrity that would continue to inspire future generations of officers.

“I recall with nostalgia their passing-out parades at the Nigerian Defence Academy, which marked the beginning of a journey defined by dedication, discipline, and distinction,” Dr. Osuoza said. “Through the years, they have demonstrated unwavering faith in the Nigerian project and an abiding sense of professionalism that has continued to inspire many.”

He extolled the duo’s courage, tactical brilliance, and steadfast devotion to the defence of the nation, describing them as shining examples of gallantry and noble character. According to him, their trustworthiness and selfless service reflected the finest traditions of the Nigerian Army and underscored the values of duty and honour that define true patriotism.

“They have retired in good health and sound well-being. I was privileged to witness the beginning of their illustrious military careers, and I thank God to be alive to witness their pulling out after such a distinguished and successful service to our nation,” he added.

Dr. Osuoza concluded his tribute with heartfelt wishes for the Generals as they begin a new chapter in life, praying for continued strength and fulfilment in their post-service endeavours.
