Dr. Ifeanyi Osuoza Unveils Ambitious Information Management Overhaul in Delta State

ASABA/Nigeria: The newly appointed Commissioner for Information, Dr. Ifeanyi Osuoza, unveiled his vision for a comprehensive information management system in Delta State. The initiative, aligned with the M.O.R.E agenda of the Oborevwori administration, aims to foster holistic collaboration with media organizations, while at same time utilising the available services of the  State Information Officers at the Local Government Level.

He made this announcement at the Government House in Asaba on Thursday, February 1, 2024, at the end of the official swearing ceremony by the State Governor, Sheriff Oborevwori.

Speaking with journalists, Dr. Osuoza highlighted the pivotal role of effective media management in advancing the state’s goals.

The governor, recognizing Dr. Osuoza’s extensive experience in media, had specifically entrusted him with the task of elevating the information system to new heights.

Assuring journalists and media practitioners in the state, Dr. Osuoza expressed optimism about a brighter future for media organizations, emphasizing their commitment to realizing the M.O.R.E agenda.

The Commissioner conveyed gratitude to God and Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori for the honour of serving as Commissioners, pledging their dedication to the state.

Governor Oborevwori, commending Dr. Osuoza as a tested hand and adept communicator in political communication, expressed high expectations for the new Information Commissioner.

He urged a shift towards creative and innovative government communication, advocating for stakeholder perception audits to enhance citizen engagement and mobilization.

Addressing the Commissioners, Governor Oborevwori emphasized the need for exemplary leadership, urging them to be role models in punctuality, discipline, and transparency. He stressed the importance of fairness, equity, and justice, calling for an open-door policy and accessibility to all citizens.

The Governor reassured Deltans that, with court distractions behind them, the administration is fully committed to advancing Delta State through accelerated infrastructural development, job creation, improved education, and enhanced working conditions for public service workers. He urged political appointees to redouble their efforts in contributing to the successful implementation of the MORE agenda.
