EFFURUN/Nigeria: Dr. Patrick Ighomrore, Senior Special Assistant to the Delta State Governor on Community Development, has expressed his profound appreciation to the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR) for their positive remarks on the infrastructure projects spearheaded by Governor Sheriff Oborevwori’s administration.
Following a tour of key projects in Warri, Ogwashi-Uku, and Ellu, the NIPR commended the state government’s commitment to development. Dr. Ighomrore, a fellow of the Chartered Institute of Human Resources and Strategic Management (CIHRSM) and a member of the Delta State Chapter of NIPR, echoed this praise.
The NIPR delegation, headed by its Vice President, Professor Emmanuel Dandaura, conducted the inspection after attending the NIPR Directors’ Conference and Retreat in Asaba. The event, held from 4th to 8th November 2024 and themed “Leveraging Technology and Data-Driven Insights for Digital Communications,” attracted leading public relations professionals from across Nigeria.
These delegates had the opportunity to witness first-hand the remarkable impact of the governor’s infrastructural initiatives. Dr. Ighomrore noted, “The conference highlighted the importance of technology and transparency in communication, values that are clearly reflected in the governor’s projects.”
Professor Dandaura, during his remarks at PTI Junction in Effurun, lauded Governor Oborevwori for his proactive approach to addressing federal road challenges within the state.
“We’ve covered about 128 kilometres since we left Asaba, and the roads have been impressive,” Dandaura commented. “It’s clear that Delta State’s leadership understands the need to provide for its people, regardless of who technically owns the road.”
Dr. Ighomrore also commended the governor’s dedication to the development of legacy projects such as the ongoing construction of flyovers at Enerhen Junction, PTI Junction, and the DSC Roundabout, as well as the dualisation of the Ughelli-Asaba road.
“These infrastructure investments by Governor Oborevwori are more than just projects; they’re a testament to his commitment to lasting development in Delta State,” Dr. Ighomrore remarked.
“The recognition from the NIPR highlights the positive impact of his visionary leadership.”
In conclusion, Dr. Ighomrore acknowledged the pivotal role of institutions like the NIPR in supporting good governance through objective evaluation and advocacy.
“The NIPR’s endorsement strengthens our resolve to advance Delta State,” he said. “Together, we are building a legacy of infrastructure and transparency for future generations.”
