In his quest at improving the quality of life of his people, the Commissioner representing Ethiope West, Sapele and Okpe Local Government Areas of Delta State Dr. Henry Ofa (JP) has presented starter packs to several youths in his mandate area.
The beneficiaries of the starter packs include those who studied fabricating/ welding, fishing, fashion designing, catering motorbike transportation, electrical etc.
The starter pack presented to the beneficiaries include drilling machines, cutting machines, glass engraving machine, cooking gas, cylinder electrical equipment, 250 capacity welding machine and motorcycle including a six months rent to one of the beneficiaries to rent a store.
Presenting the materials and cash to the benefiting youths in Oghara, Dr. Ofa urged them to make the best opportunity by using the equipment to achieve the best and as well take proper care of themselves and family, promising them that he will do more if they are improving on the items given to them.
Some of the beneficiaries thanked Dr. Ofa for the gesture, assuring that they will make proper use of the items to ensure they did not disappoint the Commissioner.
Meanwhile, Dr. Ofa was among the eleven sons and daughters of Oghara Kingdom who were recently awarded by Oghara Elite Forum at the end of year special GET-TOGETHER party/award ceremony held on Oghara hotels in Oghara Delta State for their meritorious services and having excelled in their various field of human endeavours.
Others who got the award include, Dr. Emmanuel Uduaghan, Hon. Ben Igbakpa – Commissioner for transport, Dr. (Mrs.) Clara Sogbaike – Rector Delta State Polytechnic, Otefe – Oghara, Chief Emmanuel Ighomena, Dr. Henry Ofa – DESOPADEC Commissioner representing Ethiope West, Okpe and Sapele Local Government Areas of Delta State, Chief William Makinde, Hon. Precious Ajaino – Chairman Transition Committee and Bishop Blessing Erifeta – Anglican Bishop of Sapele Diocese.
Others are Rev. Ugolor, Mr. Ogunje – Treasurer Ethiope West Local Government Council, while corporate awardees were Western Deltan University (WDU), Delta State Polytechnic, Otefe – Oghara, Delta State University Teaching Hospital (DELSUTH) Oghara, DESOPADEC and Rainoil.
Dr. Ofa who was elated at the award assured that he is already been challenged to do more for humanity having received a surprised package from his people with the little he has done so far within the limit of his resources while commenting the Oghara Elite Forum for finding him worthy amongst those honoured.
