EFFURUN/Nigeria: Authorities have announced the temporary closure of the DSC Roundabout beginning Monday, February 24 through March 31, 2026, with motorists advised to follow designated diversion routes to ease traffic flow and prevent congestion across the busy corridor.
According to the traffic notice, only motorists travelling toward Ughelli from Effurun Roundabout will be permitted to use the flyovers. Similarly, commuters approaching from Ughelli may access the flyover from DSC Roundabout down toward Effurun Roundabout during the closure period.
Drivers heading from Effurun Roundabout toward Otokutu have been directed to divert through Effurun–Sapele Road, PTI Road, Uti Road or Alegbo Road before reconnecting to the DSC Express corridor. The same route advisory applies to motorists travelling from Mofor toward Effurun Roundabout.
For those travelling from Mofor to Ughelli, traffic managers recommend using Ugbomro Road through the Federal University of Petroleum Resources Effurun axis and linking Okuokoko Road to continue their journey.
The advisory, circulated to residents and commuters, urged road users to share the information widely to minimise disruption, noting that the temporary closure is expected to affect traffic patterns across the Uvwie and Effurun road network throughout the duration of the works.
