The Delta state government of Dr Emmanuel Uduaghan has completed the project tagged Finishing strong with a 400meter flyover at Ekumeku junction Asaba recently, the project is to reduce the huge traffic the two lane roundabout is witnessing in recent times and in response to the geometrical urbanization growth in connecting areas.

parts of the country, traffic will not only grow in leaps but would be very fast with heavy-duty trucks plying the Asaba-Illah route, adding that the flyover project with ancillary works will majorly channel most of upcoming heavy highway traffic over the flyover and save urban traffic and dwellers alike, the chaos and gridlocks as well as safety concerns it otherwise portend.

He commended the state government for completing this project and mentioned that PDP is working under Uduaghan and will do more under Okowa administration, stressing that the project was awarded to CCC constructing company on August 2013 at a bill of #3,528,939,077.63,and the entire flyover/ramps structure is a four lane dual carriage way, comprising of two in each travel direction demarcated with a New Jersey Barrier and the projects includes service roads with elevated island separations into the four connecting roads making it three lanes on either side of approach and exit of the roundabout for each. The two U-turns under the flyover and multiple approach roads on the ground will totally eliminate any traffic hitches at the intersection.
The commissioner further explained that this administration has embarked on constructions of flyovers in major metropolis across the state in line with its urban renewal programme with a view to further improving traffic flow, adding that they are aimed at transforming the cities with appealing aesthetic values and that of Warri is due for commissioning.
