OBIARUKU/Nigeria: In preparation for effective administrative coordination to achieve a purposeful result to clinch the ticket for the exhorted candidateship of the Peoples Democratic Party, (PDP), and for the seat of the Ukwuani Constituency in the Delta State House of Assembly, DTHA, Hon Christopher Ochor Ochor have commissioned his campaign office at Umutu, in a ceremony which was used to inaugurate the campaign team.
Speaking during the event Hon Ochor while thanking the people for honouring his invitation, called for unity in party in the LGA as election time is approaching, as there is unity in victory.
He appealed to the would be delegates to support him, and cast their vote for him during the primary election, as he will not fail them, but will be there to represent the people of Ukwuani.
The House of Assembly Hopeful, speaking before the inauguration of the Reality Campaign Team, said that the members were selected based on their past experiences, party loyalty, conduct and ability to deliver on the objective and vision to win the 2019 election in the area, and ensuring the victory of Senator Ifeanyi Okowa for another four years as governor of Delta State.
“Those that will be inaugurated today were chosen based on their past experiences, party loyalty, conduct and ability to work for the success of our great party in the coming election, and for the reelection of our amiable governor, Senator Ifeanyi Okowa for his second term in office. Knowing our objective and vision remains the victory of our party in all the elections in the state, and the return of our Governor”.
Speaking at the event, former chairman of Ukwuani Local Government Area, and a onetime Delta North PDP Chairman, Chief Eric Obodouku Anigala, told party faithful that the party has changed from its past in the area, as there will no longer be imposition of candidates, depriving the winners of a conducted primary the right to occupy his won election, as he pledged an unalloyed support for the ambition of Hon Ochor Ochor to clinch the ticket of the party, and eventually the constituency seat come 2019.
“The yoke of winning primaries and not occupying the position has been broken, because I am with you.” He said.
On her part, the immediate past Executive Chairman of the council area, Barrister Ndudi Osakunih, and chairman of the campaign team, hailed the move of Hon Ochor to go for the exhorted seat, and called on other party members to support him. She charged those present to scout for delegates that will vote for their choice.
“I charge you as you leave here today to go and scout for a super delegate who will support our choice. That is our first assignment.” She emphasised.
Speaker after speaker spoke and gave their support for the project, including Chief Ben Alonu of Amai who performed the commissioning of the campaign office.
The inaugurated members of the campaign team which is made up 56 male and female party faithfuls, includes Chief Eric Obodouku Anigala as leader of the team, Barr Benedicta Ndudi Osakunih, immediate past chairman and current Senior Special Adviser to the governor as Chairman, Mr Power Anuku, as Director General, Chief Monday Ossai, one time PDP Chairman in Ukwuani, advisor and contact, Hon. Ebinum Solomon, Media and Publicity, and Bishop Greatman Nmalagu Director of Religious Affairs.
The campaign team is made up of several directorates.
