ASABA/Nigeria: Delta State Commissioner for Science and Technology, Mrs Jennifer Adasen, has said that the state government (DTSG) was committed to articulating policies aimed at achieving its objectives on Science and Technology in the state.
Adasen stated this during the 20th meeting of the National Council on Science, Technology and Innovation (NCSTI) with the theme, “Achieving Nigeria Global Competitiveness through Application of Science, Technology and innovation (STI).
The commissioner explained that the NCSTI was the highest national policy making body on Science and Technology (S&T), adding that the body statutorily met once every year to consider pending national issues that would fast track scientific and technological development in Nigeria.
Adasen further said that the meeting considered various aspects of scientific and technological development and deliberated on possible adoption by Government.
She stated that it concluded with updates of some activities of the Delta state Ministry of Science and Technology, adding that the purpose of the memorandum was to appraise the council on some of the activities of the ministry.
