ASABA/Nigeria: Delta State Government has marked the 2022-Armed Forces Remembrance Day Celebration to honour the fallen heroes.
The Governor, Senator Ifeanyi Okowa arrived the venue, Cenotaph, High Court Road, Asaba at 10am and received bouquet of flowers.
Governor Okowa who was represented by His Deputy, Deacon Kingsley Otuaro took the national salute and inspected the guard of honour.
The celebration witnessed the release of the commemorative pigeons as well as 21-gun salute.
The high point of the celebration was laying of the wreaths by the Deputy Governor, Speaker of Delta State House of Assembly, Chief Judge of Delta State, and the Commander, 63 Brigade, Asaba.
Others included the Commander, NNS Delta, Warri, Commander, 371 NAF Detachment, Warri, Commissioner of Police, Delta Police Command, Secretary to the State Government.
Representative of Delta State Traditional Rulers Council, representative of Christian religious groups, representative of Muslim religious groups, Chairman, Nigeria Legion, Delta State and representative of widows of fallen heroes also laid wreaths.
