DTSG to Make Final Pronouncement on OKERE URHOBO Kingship Tussle.

ASABA/Nigeria: The Delta State government will in two weeks time take final decision on the lingering kingship tussle in Okere Urhobo in Warri South local government area.

The Delta State Deputy Governor Barrister Kingsley Otuaro disclosed this in Government House Asaba at a meeting he had with the ruling families involved in the tussle.

Barrister Otuaro represented by the Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice Mr Peter Mrakpor said the meeting being the second was to chat the way forward pointing out that the decisions of government will be based on equity, fair play and in line with the age-long tradition of the people of OKERE URHOBO.

He lauded the people for their peaceful disposition and urged them to avoid acts capable of jeopardizing the unity and overall development of the town.

To those harassing opponents with the police Barrister Otuaro advised them to stop forthwith as the position in contest was a family matter moreso when the new king will rule over the entire community.

The representatives of the various ruling houses and chiefs of the town thanked the State government for brokering peace and appealed that the final decision be based on the tradition and norms of the town.

They advocated that the imbalance in the rulership of the town be corrected for the good of all.

The Deputy Governor also played host to some Kings in Ndokwa East over the traditional stool of Agadagba of Adawai Obiaka.

He pledged to affirm the decision of the Kings over the emergence of a new ruler for the community.
