EASTER: Rejoice, the Lord Has Risen – Fr. Okonkwo

ASABA/Nigeria: As Christians all over the world celebrate Easter, Rev. Fr. Malachi Okonkwo has said it is, “an occasion to rejoice.”
According to the Priest, “We have to rejoice because, the Lord has risen and we share in the power of the resurrection.”
Rev. Fr. Okonkwo spoke on Sunday, April 21, 2019 while delivering Easter Homily at the Catholic Church of the Ascension, Asaba, Delta State.
“To share fully in the power of His resurrection, we should leave our sinful ways, never to go back to them,” the Catholic Priest said, adding, “be happy, remain focused, be vigilant and remain in Christ.”
Fr. Okonkwo continued, “renounce every form of sin, anything that will not give God the glory, avoid it; know that no matter the challenges you are facing, it cannot be worse than what Jesus went through for your sake, so, always thank God for the gift of Jesus Christ.”
“It is significant to note that Jesus willingly accepted the suffering, He did not insult anyone throughout His ordeal but was prayerful,” he emphasised.
The Church service witnessed special thanksgiving and child presentation by the family of Mr Peter Dumbili.
