Economic Growth in Delta State Reflects Peace and Security, Says Commissioner
ASABA/Nigeria: Delta State Commissioner for Information, Dr. Ifeanyi Osuoza, has emphasized the correlation between the increasing tempo of economic activities and the prevailing peace in the state. Speaking during a courtesy visit by the leadership and members of the Delta Grassroots Motivation Forum, Dr. Osuoza highlighted that Peace and Security were foundational elements of Governor Sheriff Oborevwori’s MORE agenda.
“Governor Oborevwori is committed to developing all parts of the state irrespective of political affiliations,” Dr. Osuoza affirmed, underscoring the governor’s role as a leader for all Deltans.
He encouraged the group to collaborate with the Ministry of Information in disseminating the policies and programs of the Oborevwori administration at the grassroots level, emphasizing that such efforts would bolster their support for the Governor and the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in the state.
Regarding the group’s request for political appointments, the commissioner acknowledged the limitations but assured them of opportunities through the MORE agenda’s empowerment programs and other forms of political patronage.
Earlier, President of the Forum, Hon. Richard Anonye, praised Dr. Osuoza as a dedicated grassroots politician and commended Governor Oborevwori for his choice of commissioner for Information.
While expressing continued support for the Oborevwori administration, Hon. Anonye appealed for political appointments for members of the group.
The meeting, attended by notable members including Dr. Odinigwe Odigie, Commissioner for Science and Technology, and Hon. Kevin Okwechime, Chairman of Aniocha North Local Government Council, underscored the collaborative efforts toward advancing the state’s development agenda.
