OBIARUKU/Nigeria: The reelection bid of the Delta State Governor, Senator Ifeanyi Okowa, has received boost, as the Ebedei Women in Politics, Ebedei, Ukwuani Local Government Area, had declared their total supports for the governor, and the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in the area.
The women who are under the auspices of Dr. Ossai Support 4 Okowa 2019, declared their supports, when they hosted the Executive Director Social Services, Delta State Oil Producing Areas Development Commission, DESOPADEC, Dr. Samuel Ossai for his new appointment.
Speaking on behalf of the group, the Leader, while thanking the governor, stated that they were over joyed on hearing the news of his into the exalted position of an Executive Director in, and said that the appointment will no doubt mark a new dawn in the Ebedei and Ukwuani development project.
“Your appointment, as Executive Director, in DESOPADEC, into the exalted position, is a new dawn in Ebedei Community, and the Ukwuani development project. We thank his Excellency, Senator Ifeanyi Okowa for finding you worthy for the appointment.”
“We are happy with the appointment which is a square peg in a square hole, and we assure you, that we will mobilise to vote massively for the Governor and all PDP candidates come 2019.”
In his response, the Executive Director expressed immense appreciation to the women for identifying with him at such a joyous moment of his life. He noted that the appointment will be used to touch lives of his people positively, as it will not be for his personal aggrandizement.
He tasked them to continue in their solidarity and canvas for more support for the Governor as the 2019 election gathers momentum, stating that the only way the Ebedei people can reciprocate the Governor’s kind gesture to them is to vote massively for him and all PDP candidates come 2019.
“I thank you for your supports, and supports for our amiable governor, however, this support must be transformed into massive votes for the governor, and all candidates of our great party, come 2019”. He said.
He promised to fund all their meetings for the growth and development of the party in the ward, with an assurance to the women that he will continue to partner closely with them, for the greater interest of the Party in the ward.
Others who spoke at the gathering include the member representing Ndokwa Ukwuani Federal Constituency in the National Assembly Rt. Hon Ossai N Ossai and the Ag. Chairman of Ukwuani local government council Hon Combat Asangwor.
In their separate remarks, they urged the women to keep propagating the gospel of Governor Okowa’s reelection and that of all PDP candidates, as more Democratic dividends will come to them when they mobilise and vote PDP all the way!
