ASABA/Nigeria: The Deputy Speaker Delta State Hose of Assembly. Rt. Hon. Christopher Ochor Ochor, has congratulated the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP and its candidate on its victory on the Edo State Governorship Election, held on Saturday, September 19, 2020.
The Deputy Speaker stated that the victory had formerly returned the entire South South states to the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in an election that was contested with vigour, and determination by the party, and continued to last day before the election that it should be allowed to be free and fair.
Hon Ochor, in a Press Statement, signed by his Press Secretary, Mr. Emmanuel Enebeli, said the contest was one the party was determine to win, by doing the right thing, especially carrying out consultation that was all inclusive of all interests in the party in Edo state and at the National level.
He further pointed out the cohesion that was displayed by the national leadership of the party, and the South South zone of the party, as demonstrated by the Governor of Delta State, Senator Ifeanyi Okowa, and his Rivers State counterpart, Barr. Nyesom Wike, for their tireless display to win the election, in a free and fair contest was one that have to be sustained to reclaim all the lost PDP states, including the presidency come 2023.
While congratulating Governor Godwin Obaseki for his reelection, he said the victory was a well deserved one, as the victory had further positioned him to continue his development policies for the state. Saying that the Edo people look up to him, and he should not disappoint their trust, and that of the party, the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP. He congratulated the people of Edo for their massive turnout, and their decision to protect their mandates, asking for their continuous support for the reelected Governor.
