Egwunyenga Commends Okpai Youth For Community Development

Okpai/The Commissioner for Youth Development, Comrade Ifeanyi Egwunyenga, commended the Youths of Okpai community for their positive contributions to the development of their community.


The commissioner stated this, when the newly inaugurated executives of Okpai Patriotic Association visited him in his office in Asaba.
He stated that the show of solidarity and commitment to the course of the finishing strong mantra of the State Government particularly towards its youth developmental programs is worthy of commendation.

The Youth Commissioner, posited that the Youth Ministry has reached out to the youth populace through her Mindset Change and Values Reorientation Programmes, Skills, Entrepreneurship and Leadership Development Programmes, to help them fit into the reality of time and as well collaborate with youth bodies in the State like the National Youth Council of Nigeria, all these he stated, are geared towards gaining peace in the land and making the youths self-reliant.
Comrade Egwunyenga also advised that they should go all out and mobilize youths in their area to register and get their Permanent Voter’s Card (PVC) in the ongoing voters registration exercise as he looked forward to having a cordial relationship with them.
Earlier, the Public Relations Officer (PRO) of Okpai Patriotic Association Comrade Ferdinand Nwabudike, who spoke on behalf of the president of the association Comrade Anene Opute, lauded the Commissioner for his unbiased style of leadership, stating that they came for familiarization with the management of the Ministry, as well as soliciting for a working relationship with the Ministry.
He, however, stated they are rich in natural resources but have minimal capacity to benefit from natures gift to them and appealed to the commissioner through the Ministry to assist them in whichever way they could.
In his thank you message, the Secretary of the Association, Comrade Okuwa Ezechi, expressed gratitude to the Governor for deeming it fit to take the issues of youth as his number one priority which to a large extent has curbed youth unrest and agitations, and promised on behalf of the association, to work in tandem with the Ministry’s policies and programmes.
Present during the visit, were the permanent secretary Ms Ngozi Mogbolu, an assistant director, Youth Mobilization and leadership, Mr Bennett Morka, the chairman National Youth Council of Nigeria, (NYC) Delta State Comrade Kenneth Okorie.
