Eid-ul-Mawlid: Oborevwori Urges Unity, Tolerance Among Nigerians

ASABA/Nigeria: Delta State Governor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, has extended warm congratulations to Muslims in the state and across Nigeria on the celebration of this year’s Eid-ul-Mawlid, which commemorates the birth of the Holy Prophet Muhammad.

In a statement issued by his Chief Press Secretary, Sir Festus Ahon, the governor urged Muslims to use the occasion to reflect on the exemplary life and teachings of the Prophet, which emphasize peace, love, tolerance, humility, and selfless service to humanity.

Oborevwori stressed that at a time when Nigeria is striving for greater unity and social cohesion, it has become crucial for citizens, regardless of faith, to embrace these values for the progress and stability of the nation.

The governor commended the Muslim community in Delta for their steadfast contributions to peace, growth, and unity, assuring that his administration would continue to implement policies that promote religious harmony, inclusiveness, and mutual respect among all faiths.

“As we celebrate Eid-ul-Mawlid, let us be reminded that our strength as a people lies in our diversity and our shared commitment to building a peaceful and prosperous Delta and Nigeria,” Oborevwori stated.

He wished the Muslim faithful a joyful, peaceful, and hitch-free celebration.
