ASABA/Nigeria: Chairman, Governing Council, Delta State School of Health Technology, Ofuoma-Ughelli, Dr (Pharm.) Nelson Ejakpovi has described the successful inauguration of Governor Ifeanyi Okowa as Chairman Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) National Convention Committee which will organise the Presidential primary election of the party as a vote of confidence on the governor’s ability to achieve results.
In a press release, Dr Ejakpovi, a grassroots politician who has held different political positions in Delta State, expressed confidence that Governor Okowa will deliver credible, transparent and acceptable primaries that will unite all the Presidential aspirants and enable the PDP produce the next President of the country.
“Today, we are proud that Nigerians have passed a vote of confidence on our Governor, Dr Ifeanyi Okowa; his emergence as the Chairman, National Convention Planning Committee of our party for three consecutive times shows that he has been tested and accepted as a man of impeccable character, a man of integrity and humility,” Dr Ejakpovi said.
He added, “we regard him as a gift to humanity; in our state, Delta, we are celebrating the fact that members of our great party, the PDP are returning him to Government House, Asaba unopposed, nobody picked form to run against him and that is historic.”
“Bearing in mind that more than 80 per cent of politicians in Delta State belongs to the PDP, bearing in that the All Progressive Congress (APC) is shopping for PDP members they can field as their governorship candidates, I am confident that Governor Okowa will not only have a landslide victory in 2019 but, may emerge unopposed in the elections because, Deltans and Nigerians in general love him,” Dr Ejakpovi stated.
He urged Governor Okowa to continue to discharge his assignments with the fear of God, asserting, “we are supporting our Governor with whatever we have, we are praying for him and we know that the PDP did not make mistake choosing him to organise the Convention, it is really, a new dawn for our party and the country, we are happy with democracy.”
