Ejakpovi Says Endorsing Of Okowa for Second Term, Good Omen

OLEH/Nigeria: Chairman, Delta State School of Health Technology, Ofuoma-Ughelli, Dr (Pharm.) Nelson Ejakpovi has described the endorsement of Governor Ifeanyi Okowa for second term as clear evidence of the fact that one good term, deserves another.

Ejakpovi spoke at the grand rally organised by the Delta South Senatorial District Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) held at Oleh, Isoko South local government area of Delta State at the weekend.

“Today, you can see our strength as a party, most of the people you see here today came out voluntary to show their love for our Governor and in solidarity with our party,” he said, adding, “the high point of today’s event is that we have resolved that Governor Okowa is the sole candidate of the PDP for the governorship seat.”

He continued, “based on the excellent performance of our Governor in his first term, I have always advocated that nobody opposes him in the primaries of our party, and to the glory of God, elders of the party have come out to speak with one voice, endorsing him for second term, soon, you will hear about other political parties in our state adopting Governor Okowa as their choice candidate for the governorship election.”

“His activities as Governor is not limited to members of the PDP but cuts across all Deltans, nobody is being sidelined and there is no doubt that he will do more in his second term,” Dr Ejakpovi stated.

While commending the people of Delta South for coming out emmasse for the political rally, Ejakpovi, emphasised, “one salient point that was made during the rally is that our political aspirations should not affect our collective resolve to work for the Governor to win massively in all the Wards in 2019, his re-election is more important than our individual interest bearing in mind that we belong to the same political party and he is the leader of our party in our state.”

It will be recalled that at the rally, former Governors of Delta State, Chief James Ibori and Dr Emmanuel Uduaghan, former Minister of Police Affairs, Alaowei Brodrick Bozimo, former Defence Minister, Dr Roland Orisejafor, President of Athletics Federation of Nigeria, Chief Solomon Ogba, among others, who spoke on behalf of different ethnic nationalities in the state, endorsed Governor Ifeanyi Okowa and his Deputy, Deacon Kingsley Otuaro for second term in office.

Governor Okowa attended the ceremony accompanied by his wife, Dame Edith.
