ASHAKA/Nigeria: The Delta State Commissioner for Economic Planning, Mr. Sonny Ekedayen, has reminded Nigerians that the greatest legacy anyone can leave behind is to invest in people who can lead with clarity, empathy, and purpose.

Ekedayen, who gave the advice at the burial of the late Mrs. Faith Anyafulu in Ashaka, Ndokwa East Local Government Area, said a life of true impact is one that inspires others long after the person has gone. He urged the children of the deceased to uphold their mother’s virtues, stressing that keeping her legacy alive would be the best way to honor her memory.

In his sermon titled “Living in Reality with Eternity in View”, Pastor Nehemiah Aroh of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, Utagba-Ogbe, Kwale, reminded Christians that earthly choices carry eternal consequences. Drawing from Philippians 3:20–21, he noted that no human effort can cleanse sin, but only the blood of Jesus Christ can. He admonished believers to embrace salvation and live righteously, warning that God’s judgment awaits after death.

The children of the late Mrs. Anyafulu, represented by Mrs. Ubege Omenogor, Secretary to the Commissioner for Economic Planning, and Mr. Eze Anyafulu, paid glowing tributes to their mother, describing her as a devout, compassionate, and affectionate woman who lived a life of responsibility and love. They acknowledged that her passing at the age of 82 has left a deep void, but expressed consolation in the exemplary values she instilled in them, which they pledged to sustain.
