Ekemejero Ohwovoriole Assumes Office as Delta State Attorney-General: Pledges Adherence to Rule of Law and Justice Delivery

ASABA/Nigeria: In a formal ceremony held in Asaba, Mr. Ekemejero Ohwovoriole, SAN, the newly sworn-in Attorney-General and Commissioner for Justice of Delta State, has  expressed his commitment to upholding the rule of law in the governance of the state. Ohwovoriole urged Deltans to sustain their adherence to the rule of law, emphasizing the importance of legal principles in the state’s administration.

Assuming office at the State Ministry of Justice, Ohwovoriole conveyed his elation at being appointed by Governor Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori to serve in his administration. He pledged to diligently work towards achieving the administration’s ‘MORE’ agenda, particularly focusing on enhancing justice delivery.

“I will build on the foundation and achievements of my predecessor, Mr. Isaiah Bozimo, SAN, for the overall benefit of the state government and Deltans in particular,” Ohwovoriole stated, expressing his intent to continue the positive trajectory set by the former Attorney-General.

In a bid to prioritize the welfare of the Ministry’s staff, Ohwovoriole sought their support and cooperation, recognizing their essential role in the success of his assignments.

Reflecting on Governor Oborevwori’s emphasis on the Administration of Criminal Justice Law and the Administration of Civil Justice Law, Ohwovoriole highlighted the pivotal role these laws would play in the policy direction of the administration.

The Solicitor-General and Permanent Secretary of the Ministry, Mr. Omamuzo Erebe, officially welcomed Ohwovoriole to the Ministry. Erebe, who presented handover notes to the new Attorney-General, assured him of the unwavering commitment and support of the Ministry’s staff. Erebe had overseen the Ministry’s affairs since May 2023 following the conclusion of the former Attorney-General’s tenure with the end of the Okowa administration.

Reiterating the Governor’s keen interest in the Administration of Criminal Justice Law and the Administration of Civil Justice Law, Erebe emphasized the necessity of a smooth handover to ensure the effective continuation of these crucial legal aspects in the state’s governance.
