AGBOR/Nigeria: The presidential, Senate and House of Representatives election in Ika North East Local Government Area of Delta has been adjudged to be free, fair and peaceful.
In most of the places voting commenced early,accreditation and voting were done simultaneously.
There were some minor setback as the BVAS allegedly did not function properly and some individuals could not cast their votes.
Speaking to newsmen, the Manger of Communication to Governor Okowa, Mr. Jackson Ekwugum noted that voting commenced at about 9:am at Ward 1, Obiagbena Primary school in Owa-Oyibu.
According to him, I am impressed with the turn out. Many electorates came to vote the candidates of their choice.
In his remarks, the Chairman of Ika North East Local Government Area, Hon. Victor Ebonka disclosed there was no challenge in Ward 6 as the exercise went well Owa-Alizormor.
“BVAS has been very working very effectively in all seven units. Various party agents were represented and election is very credible, free and fair”
“Ika North East is generally peaceful. Voters awareness is very high as turn was massive, it is more than what we have witnessed in the recent past during elections,” he stated.
Speaking further, Hon. Ebonka said “I a m very confident PDP will definitely win this locality and Delta state.”
On his part, the founder of Ucheka S Group for PDP, Comrade Victor Ucheka commended residents for turning in their numbers to exercise their civic duties.
According to him, no one has been compelled to vote any candidate, everyone has their choice or preferred candidates. In Obisi Primary School ward 1, unit 8, 9 and 10 there is absolute calmness.
