Going through the process of choosing a leader via electoral polls, Delta state recorded a non-violence election at the 2015 presidential, senatorial and house of representative elections, our correspondent who monitored the election in delta north and some part of delta central like Ughelli North and south local government reported that accreditation and voting started late in many polling units in Delta north senatorial district and Ughelli north and south in Delta central, adding that the turn out of registered voters was impressive, also in Koko,Oghara and sapele accreditation commenced very late in the areas.
At Ogwashi-uku in Aniocha south, accreditation of registered voters was done manually as the card readers failed to identify the finger prints of hundreds of people with permanent voters card, same was the situation at Onicha-Olona in Aniocha north local government area where adhoc staffs resorted to the use of INEC register for accreditation. And ward 4 (ugba primary school) attempts by some hoodlums to disrupt the voting excersise was foiled by the team of security agents, they were also cases of snatching of ballot boxes in Kwale, Ndokwa west local government.
However, voters commended INEC for conducting a credible, free and fair election, and the INEC resident commissioner Mr.Aniedi Ikorwak said that election in Udu local government area did not hold because thugs prevented INEC and her staffs from moving election materials to the field over non availability of result sheet for a house of representative federal constituency, he later confirmed that the result sheet was later found and included in the election materials and the election will hold the next day, and the security agents will be deployed in the area.
In Ukwuani LGAm the elections was peaceful, but in many places there were issues of missing result sheets like in ward 3, unit 5 Ebedei.
