UGHELLI/Nigeria: The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ughelli North Local Government Area of Delta State on Friday inaugurated its Leadership Council with a firm pledge to deliver President Bola Tinubu and Governor Sheriff Oborevwori in the 2027 general elections.
The council, inaugurated at Evwreni, is chaired by the party’s founding leader in the state, Olorogun O’tega Emerhor, with Chief Fred Majemite as First Vice Chairman, Chief Terry Noah as Second Vice Chairman, Chief Festus Agas as Secretary, Chief Raphael Emecho as Assistant Secretary, Mr. George Oyefia as Organising Secretary, Chief Roland Odeni as Assistant Organising Secretary, Sir Festus Ahon as Publicity Secretary, and David Edjukonemu alongside Chief Adjode Prosper as Ex-Officios.
Also inaugurated were the Finance and Fundraising Committee, chaired by Stella Okotete with Mr. Kelly Oghenekevwe as Secretary, and the Elders Committee, chaired by Prof. Samuel Ibodje.
In his remarks, Emerhor urged members to regard the council as the focal point of mobilisation, describing the gathering as proof of the APC’s readiness for future political battles. “Looking around this place today, I know we are prepared and ready to go to battle. We are ready and prepared physically, financially, and spiritually,” he declared. “There is no fear in Ughelli North. We are prepared and ready.”
The Chairman of Ughelli North Local Government Area, Olorogun Jaro Egbo, cautioned against indiscipline within the party, insisting that no individual was bigger than the organisation. “The party is too big to wait for anybody. We are ready to work together,” he said.
Other speakers, including Prof. Samuel Ibodje and Morrison Olori, stressed the importance of inclusion and warned against undermining any member of the party.
The council was formally inaugurated by Hon. Matthew Omonade, member representing Ughelli North Constituency I in the Delta State House of Assembly.
