#EndSARs Protect: Ukwuani Youths Call for Overhauling of Nigeria

OBIARUKU/Nigeria: The youths in Ukwuani Local Government area of Delta State came out in their numbers Monday October 19, 2020 to protest against SARS/Police brutality, killing of innocent Nigerians, bad roads, bad government at all levels, blackout and extortion by DisCos amongst others.

The youths who conducted themselves peacefully throughout the 7 hours protest round Obiaruku the administrative headquarters of Ukwuani local government chanting solidarity songs for a better Nigeria, and the overhauling of the system that will bring a better development.

The protesters mainly middle aged young men called the Federal government to ensure that SWAT is dead on arrival, fix the Abraka-Obiaruku-Sapele-Agbor road which they described as a death trap.

They called for the urgent need for the victims of SARS and Police brutality to be due compensated; the youths who were carrying placards with different inscriptions said they expect positive changes in Nigeria from the Federal Government to Local governments, describing the high rate of unemployment in the country, political office holders jumbo salaries and allowance, extortion by BEDC in the LGA while supplying less than adequate power to consumers, as alarming.

They also stressed the urgent need for a total revamp of the education sector in the country.

The protest continued with a candle light vigil for all the victims of police brutality.
