Senator Ifeanyi Okowa
The Governor of Delta State, Senator Ifeanyi Okowa, has been
Special Assistant on Protocol to Delta State Governor, Hon. Collins Iwebunor.
described as a detribalised and focused leader, who just a few months in office, has been able to bring all the ethnic groups together and give them a sense of belonging.
The assertion was made during the week by a socio – political pressure group based in Aniocha South Local Government Area of Delta State, Enuani Democratic League, during a solidarity visit to the Special Assistant on Protocol to Governor Okowa, Hon. Collins Iwebunor, at his residence in Asaba.
The group, which spoke through its General Secretary, Mr. Eugene Obiazu, maintained that Governor Okowa has demonstrated strong commitment to improving the quality of life of the people of Delta State, going by the many quality policy initiatives taken by his administration in the last four months.
Mr. Obiazu observed that, “in spite of the economic downturn,” which he said, “was not peculiar to Delta State, Governor Okowa has been able to demonstrate strong strength of character and deep commitment to improving the quality of life of our people. We are indeed happy and grateful to have him (Okowa ) as governor of our dear state, particularly, at this critical period in our nation’s democratic progress.”
He therefore, called on Deltans to continue to support and pray for the governor and the state, saying that, “all hands must be on deck to move the state forward.”
In his brief remark, Hon. Collins Iwebunor, who is also the President and founder of the group, thanked them for their support for the administration of Governor Ifeanyi Okowa, even as he encouraged them to align with the five – point SMART agenda of the state government.
He urged them to make themselves, “positive instruments of change,” by always propagating the policies and programmes of the state government, assuring that Aniocha South would not be left out in the development of the state.
Among those who were part of the visit was the Acting National Coordinator of the group, Mr. Godwin Chienimya.
