ENVIRONMENT SANITATION: Waste Management Boss Calls Residents To Take Charge

ASABA/Nigeria: The need to work closely with all agencies with waste management to reduce the outbreak of epidemic have been exercised.

Delta State Waste Management Board, Chairman Emma Chinye made the call to all residents to ensure cleanliness to their environment

The chairman stated that evacuation of waste is everybody’s responsibility as a negative effect always get back to the people

The board has engaged the community youth of Asaba and Okpanam to checkmate the indiscriminate dumping of waste at the market place, media kebbs and other parts of the state in order to eliminate illegal dumping of refuse.

He called on the residents to report any private sector participant (PSP) who fails to do his job to the board and advice PSP to be diligent in discharging their duties or quit the system for serious minded people that are ready.

On the problems of the dumpsite, that what happened last year would not be experience,  as government is making frantic effort to ensure it does not repeat itself, for plans is being made to acquire more dumpsite across the state, as government has made provision for tipping trucks available in the 25 LGA.
