ENVIRONMENTAL SANITATIONS: Warri South Apprehends, Restricts 75 Defaulters

WARRI/Nigeria: The Warri South Local government council on Saturday during it’s monthly Environmental Sanitation apprehended and restricted movement of 75 persons who violated the State Government’s monthly environmental sanitation exercise.

This is in line with strict enforcement of restriction of movement while ensuring residents comply by cleaning their environment.

The 75 persons, according to Mr Omawumi Elete, the Council’s Supervisor for Environment, were apprehended and restricted till the Stipulated time and were made to carry community service by Clearing various areas of the council.

Mr Elete, said that the excersise was meant to scale up the directive of the State Government and the drive of the Executive Chairman of Warri South to ensure that Warri south becomes Cleaner.

Mrs Stella Mode, HOD Enviroment, Warri South council, who monitored the exercise stated that the exercise was successful and the awareness was created and those caught flaunting the Sanitation where restricted and warned accordingly.

Justice Afor, Zonal Commander, Anti-Cult Volunteer Corps, Commended the Council Chairman for getting them involved in monitoring the Sanitation exercise as he also pledged their Continuous support to the council.

Recall that the Warri South Council, Dr Michael Tidi, had vowed that the council will not spear anyone found disobeying environmental laws in the state, adding that those found disposing waste indiscriminately will be prosecuted according to the law.
