ASABA/Nigeria: Deltans across section have continued to lambast Oshimili North Traditional Rulers ever since their endorsement of Hon. Innocent Esewezie’s candidacy for the office of the Chairman of Oshimili North Local Government Council made in-road into the social media.
They believed that the actions of the supposed Royal Fathers were childlike and demeaning, allegedly accusing them of compromise to get involved in dirty politics.
While most of them who spoke to our Correspondent on conditions of anonymity may not like Senator Peter Nwaoboshi as a person, they advised Senator Ifeanyi Okowa as the Governor of Delta State to steer clear from Oshimili North politics and give Nwaoboshi his due regard as the political leader of the local government area.
They insisted that bringing the former Council’s Transition Chairman, Hon. Esewezie as candidate of PDP after the party had already picked one Ambrose Elofu Dike-Elue as their candidate was just steering the hornet’s nest.
One of the respondents said, “Okowa should respect Nwaoboshi as the political leader of Oshimili North and stop using Esewezie, Pat Ajudua and Dr. Obidi to steer the murky waters of Oshimili North politics.
Again, another traditional ruler in Delta North whose name is not proper to mention to avoid unnecessary royal rumbles, had lambasted the Royal Fathers of Ibusa, Akwukwu, Okpanam and Atuma for that charade called royal blessing for Esewezie.
He affirmed that the Traditional Rulers had just brought themselves low by taking electoral position when actual election had not even come.
The vocal monarch said, now that these traditional rulers had chested out for a PDP factional candidate, what then becomes of other of their children in the race from other political parties; maintaining that they had just eroded the confidence of this set of politicians in them.
He equally lampooned the visiting traditional rulers for making themselves subservient to their host colleague when they stood holding Hon. Esewezie while their host was sitting and praying.
Speaking to a political leader in Ibusa, he said Innocent Esewezie’s desperation cannot take him anywhere.
The grassroots politician revealed that a proper meeting of the party was called by Senator Nwaoboshi as the leader and 10 out of the constituted selection committee members of the PDP were present, including the LGA Party Chairman, Chief Nduka Ogwuda, his Deputy, Secretary, Woman Leader, Youth Leader and every other stakeholder where Mr. Ambrose Elofu Dike-Elue was picked as the party’s flag bearer for the March 6, 2020 LG Election.
His words, “The kangaroo meeting called by Hon. Pat Ajudua where Esewezie was made a candidate will not hold water. They just don’t have respect for the leader of the party in the area, because of their desperations”, he averred.
