SAPELE/Nigeria: The House of Representatives primary election for the People’s Democratic Party for Sapele, Okpe and Uvwie Constituency held in Sapele today was Inconclusive.
The result of the primaries was announced after voting by Prince Emmanuel Amgbaduba, the chairman of the committee that conducted the primaries in Sapele.
He commended participants for the peaceful way they conducted themselves.
Amgbaduba while addressing the press after the primaries said primaries are party affairs and as such this inconclusive primary is a party affair that he has to report back to the office to take further directives on the way forward.
He announced that four Aspirants participated in the primary and at the end, Chief Napoleon Gbinije, Hon. Efe Afe and Hon. Evelyn Oboro got 25 votes each while Hon. Julius Egbedi got 23 votes.
One vote was voided.
In Ethiope federal Constituency, the primary held in held at the Oghara township stadium was peaceful and transparent.
Everyone who were present were satisfied with the way and manner the election was conducted.
History was made as the two vibrant candidates going for the position of the House of Representatives got an equal votes
68 numbers of delegates were accredited to vote for the house of rep and the total number of 68 voted.
At the end of the votes, Hon Eriatake Ibori Suenu scored the total number of 34 votes while Hon Ben Igbakpa also scored 34 votes.
Speaking at the end of the election, the national electoral officer on ground for both House of Representatives and house of assembly, Mr Ugene Uzdum said decision would be made by the party’s decision makers on the way forward.
Total number of 34 delegates were accredited and voted in the house of assembly with Hon Chris Onogba emerging as the winner with the total number of 25 votes.
