Ethiope West Council Inaugurates Legislative Arm

OGHARA/Nigeria: Chairman of Ethiope West Local Government Council, Delta state, Hon. Nelson Owoso, has sued for peaceful cooperation between the executive and the legislative arms of the council, noting that, “with cooperation we can deliver on visible development to the people of the council.”

According to Hon Owoso, “we were all elected to bring meaningful and visible development to the council area. We must work as one indivisible entity if we want to achieve the purpose for which we were elected.”

The Chairman who spoke during the official swearing-in of the twenty councilors of the council, said, “Governance is a diligent work. We must therefore work very hard to ensure we meet the expectation of our people who elected us to represent their interest.”

The Chairman who paid glowing tribute to the leaders of the People Democratic Party, PDP, in the council area, said, ” our much appreciation goes to the state governor, Sen. Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa, as well as our national leader and former governor of the state, Chief James Ibori, who ensured that our election and swearing-in were a great success.’.

Those sworn-in as councilors were: Hon Kingsley Okpoji (ward 1), Hon Osborn Omene (ward2), Hon Oghenekevwe Efe (war3), Hon Jubril Nana (ward4), Hon Efe Akpode (ward 5), Hon.Senator Victor Oyibo (ward 6) and Hon Ufuoma Temienor (ward7).

Others include, Hon Festus Usor (ward8), Hon Kingsley Ejairu (ward9), Hon Marian Saniyo (ward 10), Hon Kenneth Ibiri (ward11), Hon Eghwubare Henry (ward12), Hon Daniel Ifode Amukpo(ward13), Hon Valentina Avwurhi (ward14) and Hon Henry Edward mayor(ward15)

Others were, Hon Ese Adjoshoke (ward16), Hon Benson Arinomor (ward17), Hon Goodluck Edokun (ward18), Hon Joyce Ajayi (ward19) and Hon Joel Friday (ward20), all from the People Democratic Party, PDP.

The council Chairman advised all of them “to make people oriented laws that will move the council to the next level and work without religious and ethnic discrimination.”

The ceremony took place amidst a crowd of friends and well wishers of the councilors, including the Vice Chairman, Mr Austin Atomre.
