ASABA/Nigeria: Executive Assistant on Communications to Delta State Governor and Head of Delta State Orientation Bureau, DSOB, Dr. Latimore Oghenesivbe, has underscored Governor Sheriff Oborevwori’s unwavering commitment to fostering comprehensive development across all sectors of the state’s economy.
Oghenesivbe pointed out tha the governor’s dedication to prioritizing student healthcare through the recently inaugurated Tertiary Institutions Students Insurance Programme (TISIP).
“Governor Sheriff Oborevwori will continue to develop all sectors of the state economy and consistently give priority attention to students’ healthcare through the newly inaugurated Tertiary Institutions Students Insurance Programme, TISIP,” stated Oghenesivbe.
Highlighting the significance of the TISIP initiative, Oghenesivbe remarked, “Delta is the first to pioneer such a gigantic student health programme by any state government with national spread.” He commended Governor Oborevwori for his visionary leadership, particularly in promptly disbursing student bursaries and enhancing student welfare, aligning with the administration’s MORE agenda aimed at uplifting students and youths as major beneficiaries.
Regarding the relocation of the Faculty of Management Sciences of Delta State University of Science and Technology Ozoro to the Orerokpe campus, Oghenesivbe clarified that the establishment of university campuses falls under the purview of the institution’s governing council. He assured that the newly established Orerokpe campus would not impede the rapid development of the main campus, citing recent additions such as the Faculties of Pharmacy, General Medical Sciences, and Health Sciences.
Addressing recent unrest in Ozoro linked to the relocation, Oghenesivbe attributed it to politically motivated elements and reiterated Delta State’s commitment to maintaining peace and fostering development across all communities.
“The protest was politically motivated and the organizers owe the good people of Delta State an apology, for breaching public peace in Ozoro,” remarked Oghenesivbe.
Oghenesivbe reaffirmed the governor’s dedication to advancing tertiary education across the state in line with the MORE agenda, emphasizing the Orerokpe campus’s positive reception and its potential to contribute to the state’s educational infrastructure.
“The Oborevwori administration shall continue to develop our tertiary institutions across the three senatorial districts in line with his MORE agenda,” assured Oghenesivbe.
