PORT HARCOURT/Nigeria: Former National Publicity Secretary of the defunct New Peoples Democratic Party (nPDP) and All Progressives Congress (APC) chieftain, Chief Eze Chukwuemeka Eze, says former Minister of Transportation, Rt. Hon. Chibuike Amaechi, has re-emerged as a political force ahead of the 2027 general elections—sending shockwaves through rival camps.
Eze, in a statement issued Tuesday, revealed that Amaechi’s key role in the emerging coalition known as the All Democratic Alliance (ADA) is unsettling his adversaries, who see the movement as a credible threat to the Bola Tinubu-led APC government.
According to Eze, Amaechi’s silence following the “heavily manipulated and dollar-soaked” APC presidential primary in 2022, where he came second to Tinubu, was mistaken for political retreat. However, his recent resurgence is causing deep unease among those who wrote him off.
“Amaechi’s return has thrown his political enemies into panic. They now realize his relevance is not only intact, but growing stronger,” Eze stated. “They no longer argue his influence—they fear his success.”
Eze dismissed fears being peddled by political opponents that the coalition’s aim is to upend the status quo at all costs, including through vindictive governance if victorious in 2027. He described such claims as blackmail from political jobbers who fear Amaechi’s grassroots network and national appeal.
He accused loyalists of the current administration of relying on propaganda, federal might, and institutional compromise to block the coalition’s rise. “They trust in Tinubu’s manipulative prowess to use federal power and state resources to sabotage the coalition, but Nigerians are wiser now,” he added.
Eze insisted Amaechi remains committed to service, justice, and nation-building—not political revenge. He said the coalition under Amaechi’s influence is drawing leaders of integrity and vision, who are focused on rescuing Nigeria from poor governance.
“The Amaechi political family is open to reconciliation, even for those who once betrayed him. He remains magnanimous and focused on delivering good governance,” Eze added.
He urged Nigerians seeking meaningful change to stay resolute, peaceful, and prayerful, despite the smear campaigns being launched to discredit the coalition’s leadership.
Eze warned that the Tinubu administration’s strategic gestures, like housing projects for judges or high-profile INEC infrastructure, will not save it from rejection at the polls.
He concluded by calling on Nigerians to ignore sponsored narratives aimed at undermining Amaechi’s efforts, stressing that the movement represents a real chance to restore democratic leadership and public trust in government.
