PORT HARCOURT/Nigeria: Chief Eze Chukwuemeka Eze, former National Publicity Secretary of the defunct New People’s Democratic Party (nPDP) and a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress, has lauded Governor Sir Siminialayi Fubara for his exceptional leadership in Rivers State. Eze praised Fubara for his ability to unite the people of Rivers State and for his impactful initiatives aimed at improving the state’s infrastructure and economy.
In a statement released to the media, Eze highlighted Fubara’s courage in the face of political opposition, noting that his peaceful approach has garnered support from various quarters, including former Governor Peter Odili and others. Eze expressed confidence that with the backing of key stakeholders and the populace, Fubara’s administration will continue to thrive despite challenges.
One of the key achievements of Fubara’s administration highlighted by Eze is the governor’s commitment to fixing deplorable roads across the state. Eze cited the example of the Okania-Ogbogoro Road in Obio/Akpor Local Government Area, which was recently awarded for reconstruction, as a testament to Fubara’s dedication to improving infrastructure.
Eze also commended Fubara for significantly increasing the state’s Internally Generated Revenue (IGR) to N27 billion, a remarkable achievement compared to the N12 billion recorded during the previous administration. Eze attributed this rise to Fubara’s efforts in curbing corruption and mismanagement of state resources.
Furthermore, Eze praised Fubara for his administration’s efforts in the health sector, noting that Rivers State emerged as the South-South zonal winner of the Primary Healthcare Leadership Challenge. He also highlighted the partnership between the state government and UNICEF, which will result in the donation of an oxygen manufacturing plant and equipment for the neonatal unit at the Eleme General Hospital.
In conclusion, Eze commended Fubara for his multi-sectorial initiatives and interventionist projects, stating that the governor is working tirelessly to fulfill the expectations of the people who entrusted him with leadership.
