Eze Disappointed on Calls For Former PDP Governor of Rivers State is Urged to Join APC Amid Party Fallout

ASABA/Nigeria: In a surprising turn of events, Chief Nyesom Ezenwo Wike, the former Governor of Rivers State, is facing calls to formally align himself with the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) after falling out with his party, the PDP. Chief Eze Chukwuemeka Eze, the erstwhile National Publicity Secretary of the defunct New People’s Democratic Party (PDP), expressed his disappointment at Wike’s recent actions, highlighting his blatant display of crude sabotage and other anti-party activities.

The call for Wike to switch parties came from a group of individuals, including Tony Okocha, who is described as a political jobber and imposter and is not even a member of the APC. These individuals, acting as moles, were seen and heard urging Wike to cross over to the APC and take the lead in Rivers State.

Chief Eze, in a statement released to media houses in Port Harcourt, acknowledged Wike’s notable engagement in nefarious activities and acts of sabotage against the PDP. However, he made it clear that if the former Governor decides to join the APC for whatever reason, he should not allow characters like Tony Okocha and his associates to scheme his way into the party. Chief Eze suggested that if Wike intends to join the APC, he should do so openly and courageously, instead of resorting to backdoor tactics or relying on individuals who are known for their opportunism.

Chief Eze further emphasized the extent of the damage Wike has caused to the PDP since the party’s inception in 2014. From organizing the Grassroots Development Initiative (GDI) to pelt APC leaders, including President Buhari and Asiwaju Tinubu, with stones, to actively thwarting the party’s candidate selection processes, Wike’s actions have severely undermined the PDP’s prospects. Considering this history, Chief Eze argued that inviting Wike to join a party he had worked relentlessly to decimate would be intolerable.

Appealing to political jobbers like Tony Okocha, Chief Eze implored them to spare Wike the embarrassment of reversing his stance and joining the APC. He described their pursuit of this unholy act as an attempt to exploit Wike’s current predicament for personal gain.

Adding to the unfolding drama, Tony Okocha, the self-proclaimed leader of Rivers APC, who had previously paraded himself as a figurehead, is now urging Wike to lead him. Chief Eze dismissed Okocha’s actions as an idiotic desperation, branding him as a confused and frustrated opportunist seeking attention and benefits that he did not earn.

The political landscape in Rivers State is undergoing a significant shift as Chief Nyesom Ezenwo Wike finds himself at a crossroads, with pressure mounting for him to join the APC. Observers await Wike’s response, eager to see how this high-profile political drama will unfold.
