Eze Dismisses Abe-Wike Reconciliation as Political Distraction

PORT HARCOURT/Nigeria: The purported reconciliation between Senator Magnus Ngei Abe and FCT Minister, Barr Nyesom Wike, has been dismissed as a mere distraction by Chief Eze Chukwuemeka Eze, the Erstwhile National Publicity Secretary of the defunct New People’s Democratic Party (nPDP) and a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Eze asserted that the media frenzy surrounding the alleged truce between Abe and Wike is a calculated attempt to divert public attention and stir political interest within their own factions. He emphasized the longstanding collaboration between Abe and Wike, labeling them as “evil conspirators” in the political landscape of Rivers State.

Challenging Abe’s recent statement claiming reconciliation with Wike, Eze denounced it as a “blatant falsehood” aimed at manipulating public perception. He highlighted Abe’s history of disrupting APC activities in the state, citing instances from the 2015 and 2019 elections where Abe allegedly undermined the party’s chances.

Regarding Abe’s acknowledgment of Wike’s leadership roles in both the APC and the PDP, Eze condemned it as a “corruption of politics” and criticized Abe for subscribing to such tactics.

Eze further accused Abe of seeking personal gain through political maneuvering, suggesting that Abe’s purported reconciliation might be a ploy to secure federal appointments through Wike’s influence.

Dismissing the reconciliation narrative as a sham, Eze called for skepticism and urged Abe to demonstrate genuine intentions by engaging directly with the APC leadership in Rivers State.

Additionally, Eze speculated that the reconciliation could be a strategic move to counter Tony Okocha’s influence within the APC ranks, particularly in confronting the administration of Siminialayi Fubara.

Concluding, Eze appealed to President Tinubu to consider compensating Abe for his alleged contributions to the APC’s political agenda in Rivers State, despite labeling Abe as a “saboteur” within the party.
