OKPANAM/Nigeria: An Information Officer in the Delta State Ministry of Information, Mr. Patrick Ezechie Okolie has described the death of his immediate younger brother, Mr. Dennis Ezechie as a colossal loss to the family.
Mr. Ezechie, who stated this in Okpanam, Oshimili North Local Government Area of the state during the burial ceremony of the deceased, said that the death was quite sad and sudden.
He described his younger brother as a jolly good fellow, humble and peaceful and a committed member of the family, adding that his death had created vaccum in the family.
Also speaking, one of the deceased newphews, Mr. Maxwell Ezechie who is the first son of late Bernard Okolie noted that his uncle was a kind-hearted and a man of the people, adding that he was fondly called the father of the boys even as he said he stood against injustice during his life time on earth.
Maxwell Ezechie, who described the death of his uncle as painful , said that though his life on earth was short but eventful just as he stated that there were so much good things about the deceased.
Speaking with journalists, the first son of the deceased, Chukwuma Ezechie said that words were not enough to describe his father, stressing that he was a man of action who stood firmly on his principles at all times.
He pledged to sustain the legacies of his father and ensure peace and unity among his siblings and other family members, adding that the death of his father had thrown the family into another phase of life.
Earlier, a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the community, Mr. Jude Okafor said that the late Mr. Dennis Ezechie popularly called ‘Osili Ora’ was one of the promising young men in the area who contributed his quotas to the development of his quarters and the community at large in one way or the other and prayed God to guide and give his children positive direction to follow in life.
