Ezewu, Oshogbo, Benitie, Others Eulogise The School Principal In Delta As Her Husband, Ogbueshi Ogeah Laid To Rest

ASABA/Nigeria: Delta State Commissioner for Secondary Education, Mrs. Rose Ezewu has described the Principal of West-End Mixed Secondary School, Asaba, Mrs. Augusta Ogeah as a dependable partner in the development of the education system in the state.

Mrs. Ezewu, who stated this in Asaba during the burial ceremony of the late Ogbueshi Francis Ogeah, husband of the principal.

Represented by the Chief Inspector of Education (CIE) for Oshimili South, Djoma Emiliana, the State Secondary Education Commissioner enjoined Mrs. Augusta Ogeah, the children of the deceased, and the entire Ogeah’s family to sustain his legacies.

The Oshimili South CIE stated that the death of the deceased was unfortunate, adding that death was an inevitable end to humanity but noted that the late Ogbueshi Francis Ogeah would always be remembered for positive impacts on society and humanity in general.

Speaking in an interview with journalists, past General Managers of Delta Broadcasting Service (DBS), Mr. Albert Oshogbo and Mrs. Evelyn Benitie, and the immediate past General of Bridge Radio, Asaba, Mr. Benjamin Benitie who was also a retired Deputy General Manager from DBS, Asaba said that late Ogeah was a rare broadcaster who brought a lot of innovations to the broadcasting industry.

Mr. Oshogbo and Mrs. Benitie specifically said that their late colleague had left an indelible imprint in the sound of time, adding that his death had created a vacuum not only in the Ogeah’s family but also in the DBS family and urged the family to take solace in the fact that their father lived a life worthy of emulation.

Earlier, the Principal of Niger Mixed Secondary School, Mr. Benjamin Asegeni, the Principal of Zappa Basic Secondary School, Mr. Godson Opone and their counterpart in charge of Zappa Mixed Secondary School, Ogbokor Roseline, as well as the Assistant Vice Principal (Academic) in West End mixed secondary school, Mrs. Igbojinwaekwu Priscillia, all in Asaba eulogized the virtues of late Ogbueshi Francis Ogeah saying that he was a man of integrity.

They noted that their colleague, Mrs. Augusta Ogeah was a woman of substance, adding that she was a great asset to the education system.

In her remarks, the immediate past Principal of Okpanam High School, Okpanam in Oshimili North Local Government Area, Mrs. Obiajulu Ogbogo described the deceased as a jolly good fellow, a humble and caring individual who had touched several lives.

While saying that the wife of the deceased was an uncommon and dedicated school administrator, whose modest contributions to educational growth was worthy of emulation, Mrs. Ogbogo admonished the children not to see the death of their father as the end of life.

She commended the State Governor, Senator Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa for graciously approving 40 years of retirement age for teachers just as she used the opportunity to charge teachers to reciprocate the gesture by taking their work seriously.

Responding, the children of the deceased including the first son, Barrister Chike Ogeah, and Miss Onyinye Ogeah said that their father impacted so much on their lives, especially from the foundational stage of their lives till his death.

Barrister Chike Ogeah pledged to sustain the legacies of their father, stressing that their father was a peace-loving man and said that he would build on the unity that had been existing in the family.
