Ezhionum: The people of Ezhionum in Ukwuani LGA of Delta state has cried out over exclusion in the present affair in the state. This accusation was made after a meeting between the Ezhionum Development Association, EDA and the traditional ruler of Ezhionum, HRM R.C Osawunta.
The meeting asked the Governor Ifeanyi Okowa and Delta State Independent Electoral Commission, DSIEC, to conduct a by-election in Ezhionum to elect a new Councillor to replace Mr. Emmanuel Atuma, who died in a motor accident while returning from work.
The people of Ezhionum wondered why the government of the day, the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, would exclude the community in the scheme of things after giving the party massive support in the April 2015 general elections.
They expressed displeasure over alleged high level of marginalisation of the kingdom by the relevant authorities, saying since the demise of Atuma, the people of Ezhionum Kingdom have been excluded in the scheme of things as they no longer have a voice or representation in the legislative arm for over one year.
