Face the battle squarely, Ugboma encourages Edevbie. By Jon Egie

Dr. Eddy Ugboma, the political leader of PDP members in Isoko South has encouraged Olorogun David Edevbie to go into the political battle of 2015 with courage and win.

Dr. Ugboma expressed this and other words of encouragement when the David Edevbie team paid a consultation visit to the leaders and elders of the PDP in Isoko South at Ugboma’s resident in Oleh; Sunday, August 3.

Speaking earlier, Olorogun David Edevbie said he wanted to be governor of Delta State so that he could replicate the progress he has observed in the developed world in Delta state as he has the experience and the political will to do so.

“When I become governor, I would project the people of Delta Central and South into politics at the national level. There are positions more powerful and influential than inisters at the national level but unfortunately, in that circle you find that our people are absent. I will find a way to promote our people to the Federal level and I guarantee you that within four years, our people would be visible in national politics. We should stop complaining
about the situation vis a vis Delta North predominance of appointments. What we need to do is strategize and prepare to make in-roads into the national level and before‎ you know it more of our people would be empowered and we would be well on our way to the Delta
of our dreams.

Responding, Dr. Eddy Ugboma said what Olorogun David Edevbie was stepping into was like war.

“Enter this theatre of war with courage and determination. I must tell you that it is easier for us to support a strong man than to support a weakling. I see you to be strong character and I pray to God to support you, show you the way and put you on the way.

“Move with the support of the people because competency reflects in followership. I am happy that the leader of this team, Chief Patrick Okitiakpe is a man I know very well. He exudes gentlemanliness, humility and competence and when you have a man like Chief Patrick Okitiakpe leading another man, then you must know that these are birds of the same feather.

“I have listened attentively to the speech of David Edevbie and I am very impressed because he knows what he is after and he has the qualities for it. It is not easy to be a governor therefore anybody who is coming out to be governor must be very sure of himself and I think this man is very sure of himself.

“I advise you to buckle up and face the battle squarely. Whatever we can do to offer you assistance we will do it. I have no doubt you will strike and hit the target. What I can tell you is that you have the quality but strive and face the battle.

“As you move on we will be monitoring you and where anything goes wrong we will intervene to correct it” Dr Ugboma said.

Among the political leaders and elders present at the visit are: Chief Benjamin Onojerame (the Otota of Oleh kingdom), Hon. Chief Michael Okah, Chief Otolo Pius, Mr. Michael Omojefo, Chief Emmanuel Ekee (JP), Prince Dennis Etene (JP) and Hon. Joseph Orogun.
