Fear Grips Delta Community from Eminent Attack by Fulani Herdsmen

Fulani HerdsmenEbedei: Adonishaka community in Ebedei, Ukwuani Local Government Area of Delta State is reported to be enveloped in fear of possible attack from Fulani Herdsmen, as gun shots were reported to have come from the Udaba (Across the River) section of the town, where Fulani herdsmen had forcefully occupied for more than a year.

According to our report, the herdsmen had occupied part of the community’s farm lands and had had formed the habit of harvesting the crops in the farm to feed their animals.

However, the community took a decision to eject the herdsmen, but an unconfirmed report said that the herdsmen decided to fire into the air to scare the villagers away.

From available report, the herdsmen did not cross to the town, but remained across the river.

Meanwhile it was learnt that the Special Assistant to the Governor of Delta State, on Community Matters, Hon Humphrey Uzuakpondu has called the attention of the police who reacted swiftly, and are stationed in the town.
